EIA shares latest outlook on Kazakhstan's oil production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 7. Kazakhstan is projected to produce some 2.04 mb/d of oil in 2025, the US Energy Information Administration Agency (EIA) forecasts, Trend reports.

As such, the agency's forecast for the country's oil output has remained unchanged month-on-month.

Thus, Kazakhstan's crude production level is expected to increase by 0.12 mb/d from the projected 1.92 mb/d to be produced in 2024.

The agency foresees the country's oil production hitting 2.06 mb/d in the first quarter of 2025, followed by a slight dip to 2.05 mb/d in the second quarter and a further decrease to 1.94 mb/d in the third quarter of 2025. As we move into the fourth quarter of the following year, Kazakhstan is expected to boost its production to approximately 2.1 mb/d.

Looking back, the EIA estimated the country's production level for 2023 at 1.96 mb/d.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan plans to produce up to 88.3 million tons of oil in 2024 from three large fields - Tengiz, Kashagan and Karachaganak, as the country's Energy Ministry says. Earlier, the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Almassadam Satqaliev said that the country plans oil production in 2024 at the level of 90.3 million tons. In 2023, the oil production amounted to about 90 million tons, although, initially, the production was expected to stand at 92-93 million tons of oil.
