BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. The volume of agricultural production from January through April 2024 in actual prices amounted to 2.1 billion manat ($1.2 billion), which is 1.6 percent higher than in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, production in the field of animal husbandry in value terms increased by 1.5 percent (up to 1.9 billion manat ($1.1 billion)) and in the field of crop production by 2.7 percent (up to 165.8 million manat ($97.4 million)) for the specified period.
The data from the State Statistics Committee indicate that as of May 1 this year, spring crops were planted on 299,950 ha, including grain and leguminous crops (22,530 ha), potatoes (43,550 ha), and vegetables (45,100 ha).

A total of 190,100 tons of meat, 701,900 tons of milk, and 764,3 million chicken eggs were produced in Azerbaijan from January through April 2024. Production of meat increased by 1.49 percent, milk by 0.62 percent, and chicken eggs by 5.2 percent compared to the same period in 2023.

To note, the volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan in 2023 in actual prices amounted to 12.2 billion manat ($7.1 billion), which is three percent higher than in 2022. Production in the field of animal husbandry in value terms increased by 3.2 percent (up to 6.2 billion manat ($3.6 billion)), and in the field of crop production, by 2.7 percent (up to 5.9 billion manat ($3.4 billion)).
