ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 12. Kazakhstan is intensifying efforts to localize oil and gas equipment, focusing on supporting local manufacturers, Trend reports.

As part of the Ministry of Energy's work, the IMB Localization Center for oil and gas machinery products, Group B (pipe products, pumps and seals, and technological filters), held a seminar in Atyrau on December 12, 2024.

Around 35 domestic manufacturers and suppliers of works (services), representatives of NC "KazMunayGas," and public organizations participated in the event.

Currently, the final stage involves discussions on amendments to the Tender Procedures by the Operators, with a focus on setting specific indicators and simplifying access for domestic oil and gas equipment manufacturers.

Following the seminar, NCOC, KPO, and TCO signed 10 contracts worth over $17 million with local manufacturers of goods and suppliers of works (services).

The Ministry of Energy will continue its efforts in this direction.

Vice Minister K. Arymbek also convened a meeting today in Atyrau to talk about the work that subsoil users in the Atyrau region have been doing under the concluded exploration contracts in the hydrocarbon sector, as well as plans for the future.
