ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 11. Foreign companies have paid 75 billion tenge ($148.9 million) in taxes to Kazakhstan’s budget over the past three years, Trend reports via the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported the outcome of the new rules of taxation of foreign Internet companies (the so-called “tax on Google”), introduced in 2022 pursuant to Chapter 25 of the Tax Code.

Nowadays, 101 foreign companies are registered in Kazakhstan, including Huawei, Aliexpress, Google, Apple, Netflix, and other international corporations.

TEMU, Pinduoduo, and Alibaba Group concluded conditional registration in Kazakhstan in late 2024.

Meanwhile, the tax covers foreign companies engaged in e-commerce and providing electronic services to individuals in Kazakhstan.

To note, foreign companies paid 35 billion tenge ($68.6 million) in taxes to Kazakhstan's budget in 2024.
