Israel Considers Azerbaijan as One of Its Strategic Oil Partners: Minister

Israel, Jerusalem, 2 June / corr Trend R.Abdullayev / Benjamin Ben Eliezer, the Israeli national infrastructure minister, arrived in Azerbaijan in the morning of 2 June for an official visit.

"My visit is paid in the timeframe when the two countries have many spheres for cooperation. I encourage and advice my Israeli counterparts to visit Azerbaijan to seek ways for investing, and also calls the Azerbaijani business world to invest in Israel, particularly the infrastructure field," the Israeli minister said in an exclusive interview for Trend .

Another objective of the visit is to participate in the annual oil and gas exhibition in Baku. "At present, we consider Azerbaijan as one of the important strategic partners in the oil and gas sale. Azerbaijan is a friendly country and strategic partner of Israel," Ben Eliezer said.

The Israeli minister said that his country has been purchasing oil from Azerbaijan.

"With respect to gas import, we are at the initial stage of talks. Talks in the energy and gas sector, particularly, envisage enough time," the Israeli national infrastructure minister said.
