Germany's Federal Statistical Office president Roderich Egeler and Bulgaria's National Statistics Institute president Mariana Kotzeva will pay an official visit to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee April 26-27, the State Statistics Committee reported.
The main purpose of the visit is to familiarize with the implementation of activities undertaken within the twining project on the program European Neighborhood Policy. Twining project on statistics consists of four components - national accounts, shadow economy, business statistics and index of consumer prices.
Moreover, it is planned to sign the Joint Declaration of Intentions on cooperation in the field of statistics between Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee and German Federal Statistical Office. The signing of this declaration will provide an opportunity to introduce information technologies, modern statistical methods and techniques, exchange of statistical information and publications on the development of social statistics of the two countries and exchange of experience in various fields in two agencies.
At the same time, it is planned to approve a plan of activities for 2010-2012 within the agreement on cooperation between statistical agencies of Azerbaijan and Bulgaria signed in 1999.
Under this plan, we plan to cooperate in the areas of dissemination of statistical information, marketing, trading, services and tourism, labor, living standards and household, as well as demographic and social statistics.
