Iran 's trade turnover with ECO members totals $56 billion and is expected to increase in future, ISNA reported quoting Secretary-General of the Economic Cooperation Organization Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mohammad Reza Karbasi as saying.
" ECO Trade Agreement ( ECOTA )Protocol would stress on reducing commercial tariffs which increase volume of trade amongst ECO member," he said.
By implementation of ECOTA trade agreement, ECO members will increase cooperation with private sectors, he added.
Currently officials of Islamic Republic, Turkey, Pakistan and Afghanistan signed ECOTA trade agreement while Tajikistan also promised to sign the agreement.
He expressed hope the volume of trade between Iran and Tajikistan would increase. The current trade turnover between two counties is around $300 million.
