Prices of diary products has increased considerably in Iran recently.
Price of 1.5 liter of low-fat milk sold under different brands increased from 35,000 rial ($0.83) to 40,000 rials ($0.95), ISNA reported.
However, neither the Support Council nor Milk and Agriculture Organization provided explanation for the price hike on the diary products market.
Price of fat-free, low-fat and full-fat milk is regulated by market pricing norms and as of Aug. 3 low-fat milk cost 29,500 rials ($0.70) per 1.5 liters.
Meanwhile, Milk and Agriculture Industry Organization avoided to comment on reasons and grounds for increase in diary products prices.
