BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 26. Iran imported 25,200 tons of goods worth approximately $62.4 million from Georgia in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
As indicated in the data of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran's imports from Georgia for the reporting period fell by 26.6 percent in value and rose by 5.6 percent in volume compared to the same period the previous year.
So, Iran’s imports from Georgia stood at 23,900 tons worth $84.9 million in the first half of the last Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022).
Iran’s main import items were agricultural products, timber, various types of equipment, spare parts, etc.
Over the 6th month alone (August 23 through September 22, 2023), Iran imported 6,260 tons of goods worth approximately $17.7 million from Georgia.
In total, Iran imported 17.6 million tons of goods worth $30.4 billion in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023). This is an increase of 11.6 percent in value and 6.89 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
Iran’s main import partners in this period were the UAE, China, Türkiye, Germany, and India. The main imported items were corn feed, mobile phones, and soybean seeds.
