Azerbaijan, Baku, April 7 / Trend, N. Ismayilova /
Azerbaijan and Jordan will discuss the possibility of importing natural gas from Azerbaijan, the Industry and Trade Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Hani El-Mulki told Trend on Thursday, on the eve of his visit to Baku.
"The possibility of signing a memorandum on mutual cooperation in energy and mineral resources between the two countries will also be considered," he said. "We are ready to promote investments of the Azerbaijani companies in projects on oil and gas exploration in Jordan in accordance with PSAs," Hani El-Mulki said.
He said that the trade exchange between Jordan and Azerbaijan has not yet reached the level desired by both countries. The trade volume in 2010 hit about $1.3468 million compared to a record figure 2.3688 million in 2009.
"We will make every effort to find practical and effective mechanisms for development of trade and investment between our countries, cooperate to increase the trade volume between the two countries, and work to resolve all the difficulties that restrict the growth of mutual trade exchange," Hani El-Mulki said.
A Jordanian delegation headed by Hani El-Mulki will arrive in Baku in April. The visit is aimed at attending the second meeting of the Azerbaijan-Jordan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, to be held on April 11-12.
