BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 13. Shah Deniz field produced 2 billion cubic meters of gas in January 2025, as compared to 2.4 billion cubic meters in the same period in 2024, Trend reports citing Azerbaijan’s energy ministry.
As such, gas production from the field saw a 16.6 percent decline year-on-year.
In January 2025, Azerbaijan produced 3.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Of this, 1.1 billion cubic meters came from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli field, 2 billion cubic meters from the Shah Deniz field, 0.1 billion cubic meters from the Absheron field, and 0.7 billion cubic meters from SOCAR.
During the reporting period, gas exports totaled 2 billion cubic meters. Of this, 1 billion cubic meters were sold to Europe, 0.7 billion cubic meters to Türkiye, and 0.3 billion cubic meters to Georgia. Additionally, 0.5 billion cubic meters of gas were transported to Türkiye via TANAP.
Since the start of operations of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz fields, up until February 1, 2025, a total of 651.9 million tons of oil (including condensate) and 469.6 billion cubic meters of gas have been produced. Around 602.9 million tons of oil and 230.8 billion cubic meters of gas were extracted from ACG, while nearly 49 million tons of condensate and 238.8 billion cubic meters of gas were produced from Shah Deniz. Nearly 650 million tons of oil and 171 billion cubic meters of gas have been exported up until February 1, 2025.
