Azerbaijan may compensate 30%-40% of the gas imported from Russia due to the completion of the program for increasing the private gas production in the fields developed independently by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), the Head of the Fuel and Energy Operations Department of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Industry & Energy, Idris Rzabeyov, exclusively informed Trend Special Correspondent in Astana.
In addition, Azerbaijan will receive gas from the field Shah Deniz. At the same time, negotiations are continuing with Iran regarding an acquisition of nearly 1 bln cu.m of gas, Rzabeyov said.
Within the completion of the program for increasing the gas production, SOCAR offers to drill new wells, construct a pipe for the transportation of high-pressure gas, as well as construct gas-compressor station in the Gunashli field for the collection of the gas of low-pressure.
This year, the volume of the gas production is intended to be increased by 0,5-1 bln cu.m. Next year, this indicator will be increased by the same volume.
