Azerbaijan tallies volume of loans disbursed in its capital and regions

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 28. The volume of loans issued in the capital and regions of Azerbaijan increased by 4.3 billion manat ($2.5 billion) or 20.23 percent as of July 31, 2024, compared to the same period of 2023, amounting to 25.6 billion manat ($15 billion), Trend reports.

According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), loans worth 19.8 billion manat ($11.6 billion) were issued in Baku in the mentioned period, which is 3.41 times higher than the total volume of loans issued in all regions of the country.

Loans in national currency in Baku accounted for 15.4 billion manat ($9.05 billion) (77.75 percent of the total volume of lending in Baku).

The average annual interest rate in the country amounted to 12.88 percent; in Baku, it was 11.52 percent.
