The KUR computer plant plans to set up a network of Internet kiosks in Baku by late first quarter 2010, company Software Engineer Urfan Valiyev told Trend .

Internet kiosks will be installed in public places throughout Baku.

According to Valiyev, educational institutions, business centers, waiting rooms, airport terminals and bus stops are economically viable places where it is possible to install these devices.

Today, Internet kiosks are used by public and private enterprises.

"Work is underway to develop software allowing the automated workflow of kiosks. The plant plans to expand kiosk production after the software work has been completed. Web kiosks will operate on the basis of broadband wireless access WiMAX. Therefore, tariff plans and the quality of services offered are under consideration," he said

The stand-alone devices, connected to high-speed Internet, will provide a connection for clients. Based on preliminary data, the data transmission speed will be up to one Gbps. Devices are expected to be equipped with printers, allowing the user to print the necessary information.

The convenience of the kiosk will be provided by an Internet browser, which will connect the link between the user and the Internet.
