OSCE Chairman to visit Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan

The OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Finnish Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb, will visit Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan from 30 June to 2 July, reported OSCE.

He will meet the presidents, foreign ministers and parliamentary speakers of the two countries to discuss OSCE matters as well as bilateral and other international priority areas. He will also meet with representatives of civil society and the international community.

Topics on the agenda include support in fulfilling OSCE commitments, border security and management, OSCE engagement with Afghanistan, human rights, working with civil society, environmental security as well as strengthening co-operation and regional stability.

In Bishkek, the Chairman-in-Office will give a news conference tentatively set to start at 15:00 on 1 July at the OSCE Centre in Bishkek, 139 St. Toktogula.

In Astana, he is set to give a joint news conference with Foreign Minister Marat Tazhin on July 2 tentatively at 10:50 at the Foreign Ministry and a joint news conference with the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Goran Lennmarker, tentatively set to start at 16.40 at the SAS Radisson Hotel, Sary Arka 4.
