BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 13. Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov met with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Atdayev in Bukhara (Uzbekistan), Trend reports via Uzbek Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.

During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the fields of industrial cooperation, trade, transport and logistics, discussed issues of increasing the number of joint projects in agriculture, construction materials production, automotive, textile, pharmaceutical and electrical industries, as well as in the chemical industry.

At the same time, the sides noted the steady growth of trade turnover between the two countries, which increased by 67 percent in 2021. In this context, the parties' interest in increasing this figure to two billion dollars was confirmed.

Furthermore, the parties agreed to accelerate the launch of the border trade zones "Lebap – Bukhara" and "Dashoguz – Khorezm".
