ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 10. The area of land sown with onions this season by farmers of the Lebap region located in the east of Turkmenistan will amount to 900 hectares, Trend reports.
According to official data, this year farmers expect to harvest 25 tons per hectare of cultivated land, which will amount to a total of 22,500 tons of onions.
In order to obtain a rich onion harvest, appropriate work has been carried out in all areas of the Lebap region to care for crops in accordance with agrotechnical standards.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan is striving to secure sustainable agricultural development through infrastructure modernization, the adoption of cutting-edge technology, and diversification of production.
The nation is making substantial investments in its infrastructure, fostering novel cultivars, supporting small-scale farms, and placing a premium on environmental conservation.
