ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, August 8. The Halach cotton yarn factory in the Lebap region of Turkmenistan has exported over 1,000 tons of finished products since the beginning of the year, Trend reports.
According to official data, exports accounted for almost half of the factory's total production, which has surpassed 2,300 tons. The factory's products have been shipped to six countries: Armenia, Poland, Iran, Uzbekistan, Tükiye, and Russia.
In the first half of this year, enterprises in the Lebap region produced more than 40,400 tons of cotton fiber, which is 20.8 percent more than in the same period of 2023. Additionally, the value of cotton yarn produced during the reporting period reached 190.6 million Turkmen manat ($54.5 million).
Turkmenistan, known for its extensive cotton fields and high-quality cotton, continues to rely on this industry as a key source of revenue and employment for its population.
