Uzbekistan discloses trade turnover volume with Kazakhstan

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 25. Uzbekistan’s trade turnover volume with Kazakhstan amounted to $1.2 billion from January through April 2024, Trend reports.

As per data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency, this figure is 20 percent lower year-on-year ($1.5 billion in January–April 2023).

Kazakhstan ranked third among the countries with the largest volume of foreign trade turnover in Uzbekistan. At the same time, Uzbekistan traded the most with Kazakhstan among Central Asian countries during this period. The country’s share in the total volume of trade turnover in Uzbekistan accounts for 5.9 percent.

The volume of exports to Kazakhstan from Uzbekistan amounted to $383.9 million, which is less by 10 percent, compared to the same period last year ($426.8 million in January–April 2023).

Uzbekistan’s imports from Kazakhstan reached $841.1 million from January through April 2024. This indicator has increased by 15.8 percent year-on-year ($1 billion in January–April 2023).

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover volume amounted to $20.9 billion from January through April 2024. This is 6 percent more year-on-year ($19.7 billion in January–April 2023).

The largest trade turnover volume was recorded with China ($3.9 billion) during this period. Russia ranks second with a total trade turnover volume of $3.8 billion, followed by Kazakhstan ($1.2 billion).
