TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 11. Uzbekistan’s is currently working on the second stage of modernization in its Indorama Kokand Fertilizers and Chemicals enterprise, Trend reports.

According to Uzbek president’s office, within the framework of the second stage, the country implemented $50 million of investments. Modern technological equipment from Switzerland, Germany, India, China and Italy has been installed.

This stage will produce potassium sulphate, sulphuric acid and ammonia-chloride fertilizers worth $24 million a year and a total of 120 new jobs will be created.

Furthermore, Uzbekistan plans to start the work on the third phase of the enterprise in 2025-2028. Production of mono- and dicalcium phosphates, potassium nitrate, nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium (NPK) complex mineral fertilizer, calcium chloride, monoammonium phosphate, potassium monophosphate will be established. The total cost of the project is $100 million and it envisages creation of 235 jobs.

Meanwhile, on the construction of the Indorama Kokand Fertilizers and Chemicals enterprise was implemented $70 million of foreign investments, and production was modernized. Modern equipment from leading companies in Spain, the USA, China, India, Türkiye, Spain and Russia was installed. An additional 150 jobs were created.

In 2021, as part of the first stage of modernization work, production of ammoniated superphosphate, fast-soluble complex mineral fertilizers, nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium (NPK) mineral fertilizers was launched. The capacity of the plant was increased from 75,000 to 450,000 tons per year.
