Uzbek capital to get major road upgrade with Chinese cooperation

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 21. Tashkent region administration, Tashkent Invest, and China State Construction Engineering Corporation signed an agreement on reconstruction and modernization of road infrastructure in Tashkent city, Trend reports.

The document was signed at a meeting between the Tashkent region administration, Tashkent Invest, and the delegation of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (PRC), headed by General Director Liu Dong.

The total investment volume of the project will amount to $300 million. It is planned to reconstruct the city roads and related infrastructure.

Within the framework of the project, more than 200 local and foreign specialists, including surveyors, transportation engineers, and designers, will be involved in the work.

Moreover, the sides also signed an agreement on the establishment of a joint venture to design and train personnel. This project will create more than 20 jobs.

The enterprise will train and upgrade the skills of specialists in road construction and infrastructure development, including architects, planners, and designers.

ChinaState Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) is the largest construction company in China and a world leader in terms of the volume of work performed.

CSCEC implements projects in more than 100 countries, including over 6,000 large-scale projects such as skyscrapers, airports, and national infrastructure complexes. The corporation has invested over $2.5 billion in innovation and sustainable construction in 2023.
