TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 27. The total volume of commercial banks’ capital in Uzbekistan amounted to 114.7 trillion soums ($8.8 billion) in 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan shows that the capital of state-owned banks reached 70.1 trillion soums ($5.3 billion), and the capital of other banks totaled 44.6 trillion soums ($3.4 billion) during this period.
The National Bank of Uzbekistan accounted for the largest volume of capital, totaling 18.8 trillion soums ($1.4 billion) among Uzbekistan’s state-owned banks. The country’s Agrobank ranked second with 12.4 trillion soums ($954 million), followed by Uzpromstroybank with 10 trillion soums ($769.4 million).
Out of all the banks in Uzbekistan, Ipoteka Bank came out on top with a capital volume of 7.3 trillion soums ($561.6 million), while Kapital Bank made it to 5.2 trillion soums ($400.1 million). Uzbekistan's Hamkor bank hit the jackpot, coming in third place with a whopping 5.1 trillion soums ($392.4 million) in 2024.
Meanwhile, the volume of investments in fixed capital in Uzbekistan reached 493.7 trillion soums ($38.2 billion) in 2024. The growth rate of investments was 127.6 percent in 2024, marking the highest figure over the past five years
