Iran's Fokker F27 reconnaissance aircraft photographed comprehensively a U.S. aircraft carrier, flying directly above the object, Iranian Navy Commander, General Habibullah Sayyari was quoted as saying by Fars.
Sayyari added that the aircraft carrier entered the free waters of the Persian Gulf, and the Iranian aircraft had the right to monitor the ship's movement.
The Fokker F27 reportedly flew close to the Eisenhower aircraft carrier for 20 minutes April 21. According to Pentagon officials, it is unclear which defensive actions the aircraft carrier crew took. No one was injured.
