By establishing a joint currency for trade, Muslim countries can defy Western autocracy, Iranian MP Ezatolah Akbari said today, Mojnews reported.
"Imperialist countries dictate the dollar as the global currency, but if Muslim countries can establish a joint currency for trade they can beat imperialism," he said.
He noted that the U.S. sanctions on Iran are revengeful.
Iran has the world's second largest reserves of gas and is the third in oil reserves, faces US sanctions over its controversial nuclear program.
