Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said on Sunday that the case of three US citizens, charged with espionage and illegally entering Iranian territory have been investigated by the Judiciary, IRNA reported.
Mehmanparast said the sentences for Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal have been given on the same basis.
He said that however, the case of Sarah Shourd is still open in the judiciary based on her previous indictment.
The spokesman said the cases have undergone legal procedures in the judiciary that enjoys full independence.
Evidently, he added, the accused have the right to appeal the verdict..
