Iranian Defence Minister Ahmad Vahidi said Iran's Navy Force development process is unpreventable, IRNA reported.
With regard to Iran's navy presence in Mediterranean Sea for the second time, Vahidi said the country continues achievements in maritime military sector and this process is ongoing.
"Iran wants to seriously expand its presence in international open waters," he said.
The Mehr News Agency reported on Monday that two Iranian vessels have crossed Suez Canal and arrived in Syria.
Last February, the Iranian frigate Alvand and supply ship Kharg entered the Mediterranean through the Suez Canal for the first naval visit since 1979.
