Families of Jordanians jailed in Israel staged a sit-in Wednesday, calling on the government to secure the release of their beloved ones from Israeli jails, Xinhua reported.

The demonstrators, who gathered in front of the Lower House, urged lawmakers to place the issues of Jordanian prisoners in Israel on the top of their agenda.

The demonstrators, who slammed the government for ignoring the issue of Jordanians jailed abroad, called on the Foreign Ministry to intensify its efforts to secure the release of Jordanians jailed in Israel.

They stressed that the issue of Jordanian prisoners in Israel is a national issue, stressing the need that the government uses its channels and abilities to secure their release.

According to the Arab Organization for Human Rights, there are more than 30 Jordanians jailed in Israel, in addition to several missing Jordanians.
