In January-August 2019, cargo transportation by 22,829 Turkish trucks was carried out from Turkey to Azerbaijan, which is 1 percent less compared to the same period in 2018, Trend reports with reference to the International Freight Forwarders Association (UND) of Turkey.
“Azerbaijan accounts for 2.79 percent of the total volume of cargo transshipment from Turkey by trucks for the reporting period,” the association said.
Furthermore, in January-August 2019, cargo transshipment by 13,664 trucks was carried out from Turkey to Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR), which is 44 percent less compared to the same period in 2018.
“During the reporting period, NAR accounted for 1.67 percent of cargo transportation from Turkey,” the association said.
In January-August 2019, 7,361 Turkish trucks transported cargo from Azerbaijan, which is 80 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.
“During this period, 2,288 Azerbaijani trucks transported cargo to Turkey, which is 21 percent more compared to the same period in 2018,” the UND said.
In January-August 2019, 818,704 Turkish trucks transported cargo abroad, which is 5 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.
“The share of cargo transported from Turkey by Turkish trucks accounted for 77.76 percent of the total volume of cargo transshipment by road transport,” said the report.
In January-August 2019, 234,109 foreign trucks transported cargo across Turkey, which is 3 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.
“The share of cargo transportation from Turkey by foreign trucks amounted to 22.24 percent,” the UND said.
In January-August 2019, 268,134 Turkish trucks transported cargo from foreign countries.
