State of Kazakh railway requires immediate making a decision on possible development in future, Kazakh minister of transport and communications, Abelgazi Kusainov, said at the meeting 'Prospects of Kazakh railway development till 2020', press-service of the ministry said.
"All this work must be aimed to construct effective and optimal structure branch with efficient mechanism of state regulation and further creation of competitive sphere for carriers. T must be done taking into account changed terms of railway services market of neighboring countries and world practice of a branch re-forming," Kusainov said.
Minister ordered to set up inter-departmental working group to deal with project of railway development.
The message said that Kazakh railway's managing director on corporative development Erken Zhusanbayev stressed at the meeting that major problem of Kazakh railway is implementation of monopolist activity and as consequence, tough tariff and technical regulation.
"It is necessary to set up a private institute of carriers to take out of tariff regulation," Zhusanbayev said.
