Iran’s fish and shrimp exports projected at $250 million

Iran plans to export fish and shrimp worth $250 million in the current calendar year, which began on March 20, the deputy agriculture minister said.

"The fishery organization's budget has increased by 20 percent compared to the year before," the Mehr News Agency quotes Gholamreza Razzaqi as saying.

Some 4,000 tons of shrimp, valued at around $17 million, was exported last year to the UAE, Kuwait, Lebanon, Australia and Spain, he said. He added that infrastructures have been provided to export 500 kilograms of caviar in the current year.
