Iran's Deputy Minister of Oil said that the idea that some countries can fill the vacuum of Iran's oil is technically and politically wrong.

“The Persian Gulf is an international oil transit route that can be used by everyone and not by just a few countries,” Amir Hossein Zamaninia said on April 30 at the meeting of the Working Group of Experts of the World Petroleum Council (WPC) in Tehran, Trend reports citing Tasnim News Agency.

Iran’s top general warned that Tehran could close the strategic Strait of Hormuz shipping route if it faces more “hostility”. The statement came after Washington said that it would start imposing sanctions on countries such as India, China and Turkey, which buy Iranian oil.

"In the current difficult circumstances, Iran seems to be able to resist US sanctions, which are an example of the US bullying other countries and its attempts to shift the global power balance," said Zamaninia. “US sanctions against Iran's oil industry not only bring hardship to the Iranian people, but also make a negative impact on the global oil market.'
