Shah Deniz field’s gas & condensate output since commissioning revealed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 14. Shah Deniz giant field offshore Azerbaijan has produced more than 218.3 billion cubic meters of gas since the commissioning till May 1, Trend reports via Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy.

During this period, 155.2 billion cubic meters of gas was exported from Shah Deniz.

Meanwhile, the field has produced around 46 million tons of condensate since the start of commercial production.

During the period from January through April 2024, the field produced 9.2 billion cubic meters of gas, as compared to 8.8 billion cubic meters in the same period in 2023, showing a 4.5 percent increase.

The volume of condensate output from the field in the first four months of this year stood at 1.4 million tons, as compared to 1.5 million tons in the same period in 2023, dropping by 6.7 percent year-on-year.

The existing Shah Deniz facilities’ production capacity is currently about 79.5 million standard cubic metres of gas per day or approximately 29 billion standard cubic metres per year.

Shah Deniz participating interests are: bp (operator – 29.99%), SGC (21.02%), LUKOIL (19.99%), TPAO (19.00%) and NICO (10.00%).
