Saipem reports robust capex in first half of 2024

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 25. In the first half of 2024, Saipem's capital expenditure reached €194 million, up from €139 million in the same period of 2023, Trend reports with reference to the company.

The expenditure was allocated as follows: €149 million in Asset Based Services, €8 million in Energy Carriers, and €37 million in Offshore Drilling.

As of June 30, 2024, Saipem's pre-IFRS 16 net financial position stood at a net cash of €394 million. Including the IFRS 16 lease liability of €542 million, net debt was €148 million. The pre-IFRS 16 gross debt amounted to €2,210 million, with liquidity totaling €2,604 million, of which €1,265 million was available cash.

In terms of new business, Saipem secured contracts worth €7,086 million in the first half of 2024, compared to €6,690 million in the same period of 2023. The company's backlog as of June 30, 2024, stood at €30,470 million, distributed as follows: €16,309 million in Asset Based Services, €12,489 million in Energy Carriers, and €1,672 million in Offshore Drilling. Of this total, €6,636 million is expected to be executed within 2024. Including non-consolidated companies, the backlog was €30,626 million, up from €29,892 million at the end of 2023.
