Azerbaijan, Baku, 19 May / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / From January to April 2008, totally AZN 274mln worth communication services were rendered to various organizations and people, which is 41.4% more as compared to the mentioned period in 2007, the Azerbaijani State-run Statistical Committee reported.
The communication service growth was observed in Guba-Khachmaz region - 31.5%, Nagorno-Shirvan - 33.1%, Aran - 28.9%, Nakhchivan - 66.2%, Lankaran - 37.4%, Absheron - 30.2% and Ganja-Kazakh - 28.6%.
From January to March 2008, the number of employees engaged in the communication sphere made up 22,500 people, with the average salary AZN 364.3, more by 39.4% as compared to the previous years. The salary increased by 27.4% in the state enterprises and 41.8% in the private sector.
