BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 2. In May 2023, Kazakhstan exported 65,020 tons of wheat flour to Uzbekistan, which is a 37-percent increase compared to the April figure, Trend reports.
Data from the Kazakhstan Statistics Committee indicates that this is a record monthly volume not only for the current season but also for the past few seasons.
In total, during the 9 months of 2022/23 (September-May), Uzbekistan imported 406,600 tons of Kazakh flour.
During the same period of the previous season, Kazakhstan supplied Uzbekistan with 319,200 tons of this product (including 33,730 tons in May 2022).
Thus, Uzbekistan firmly holds the second position in the list of importers of Kazakh wheat flour, only to Afghanistan.
Furthermore, in the 9 months of 2022/23 reporting season, Uzbekistan became the top importer of Kazakh grains. A total of 3.094 million tons were shipped, including 395,120 tons in May (the highest figure in the last 5 months). During the same period of the previous season, Uzbekistan purchased 2.21 million tons of wheat (including 150,870 tons in May 2022).
