ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 9. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, visited the country's Pavlodar and received information about the socio-economic development of the region and possibilities for investment, Trend reports.
According to the head of the region, Asain Baykhanov, 344 billion tenge ($771.3 million) was attracted in the form of investments in the first half of the year, which is 30 percent higher than in the same period last year.
The head of the region also stated that the construction of a plant for the production of technical silicon in Kazakhstan's Ekibastuz worth 35 billion tenge ($75.5 million) is in progress. The launch of the 'Ekibastuz FerroAlloys' plant is also planned, investments in which will amount to 92 billion tenge ($206.3 million). This project will create more than 1,500 jobs.
In the field of railway engineering, the forging and banding complex of the 'RailCastSystems' company is to be launched, investments in which will amount to 78 billion tenge ($174.9 million).
The existing enterprises of the region also received support. The 'Neftekhim LTD' company, for example, became the first in the CIS to start the production of an epoxy compound. Kazmunaikhim LLP has also successfully launched the production of chemicals and additives for the oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan.
