ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 15. About 660 remittances through international money transfer systems (IMTS) were made from Georgia to Kazakhstan in June 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data from the National Bank of Kazakhstan, the volume of transfers amounted to 381.3 million tenge (about $794,000).
At the same time, 4.9 billion tenge, or approximately $10.2 million, were transferred from Kazakhstan to Georgia through 2,600 transactions via IMTS.
To this end, Georgia is sitting pretty in eighth place when it comes to the volume of remittances flowing into Kazakhstan, and is a solid fourth in terms of the volume of remittances flowing out of Kazakhstan.
Meanwhile, the total number of money transfers through international money transfer systems (IMTS) in Kazakhstan amounted to 206,500 transactions worth 75.3 billion tenge (about $158 million) in June 2024. Compared to May 2024, there is a decrease in the number of transfers by 6.2 percent and in the volume of transactions by 0.6 percent.
