"One of our priority issues is ensuring security, we can not speak of security in Europe and Asia separately. Everything should be considered in context of the Eurasian continent," Kurmanbek Bakiev, President of Kyrgyzstan said at informal summit of heads of state in Almaty (Kazakhstan), news agency "24.kg" reported.

"Sometimes informal meetings are way more effective than official events, as they allow free discussion on topical issues," presidential press service quoted the leader.

In course of the meeting, the presidents of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan signed a joint customs bill to come into force on January 1, 2010.

Leaders of Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Turkmenia took part in the summit.
