BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 23. The volume of cargo transported in Kyrgyzstan by all modes of transportation amounted to 26.232 million tons from January through July 2023, Trend reports.
This figure increased by 2.9 million tons or 12.3 percent compared to the same months of the previous year (23.353 million tons), according to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
In July of the current year, the volume of cargo transported by all modes of transportation grew by 0.1 million tons, or 1.3 percent year-on-year.
The majority of cargo transportation (over 62 percent) via road transport was carried out by individual entrepreneurs or individuals.
Furthermore, the volume of cargo turnover for all modes of transportation from January through July 2023 amounted to 1.539 billion ton-kilometers, which is an increase of 140.2 million ton-kilometers or 10 percent compared to the corresponding months of 2022.
In July of this year, the volume of cargo turnover in Kyrgyzstan increased by 15 million ton-kilometers, or 6.7 percent year-on-year.
