DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 10. A total of 850 new facilities have been constructed and commissioned in the Asht district of Tajikistan’s Sughd region in the past three years, with a total investment exceeding 160 million somoni ($15 million), President Emomali Rahmon said during a meeting with local leaders and activists, Trend reports.
“Over the past five years, local entrepreneurs have launched 20 new industrial enterprises, providing over 1,000 new jobs and improving living conditions for the district’s residents,” Rahmon said.
He highlighted that during his visit, new textile enterprises were inaugurated, creating more than 700 jobs. These facilities, funded by domestic capital amounting to over 90 million somoni ($8.4 million), have a daily processing capacity of 15 tons of cotton fiber.
Furthermore, Rahmon noted that in the first seven months of this year, more than 100 new industrial enterprises have been commissioned in the Sughd region, most of which are in the processing industry.
