DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, October 14. The volume of industrial production in the Rushon district of the Gorno-Badakhshan autonomous region in southeastern Tajikistan increased by 20 percent in the first eight months of 2024 compared to the same period last year, President Emomali Rahmon said, Trend reports.
According to the press service of the head of state, he made the statement during a meeting with local leaders, activists, and residents.
According to Rahmon, over the past two decades, the district's industrial output has doubled. In 2024 alone, nine new industrial enterprises were established in Rushon.
The president noted that there were only four operational industrial enterprises in the district in 2022, while the total now stands at 16.
Rahmon emphasized that the area holds significant untapped resources and potential, particularly in the fields of mineral processing, decorative stone production, and the final processing of agricultural products. He underscored the opportunity for increased production across various sectors and the development of traditional crafts.
