DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, August 8. The gross agricultural output of Tajikistan reached 23.853 billion somoni (\$2.5 billion) from January through June 2025, which is a 9.7 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024 (in comparable prices).
Data obtained by Trend from the country's Statistical Agency shows that crop production hit the jackpot at 15.891 billion somoni ($1.7 billion), marking a 9 percent leap from last year, while livestock output also rode the wave, totaling 7.962 billion somoni ($855 million) with a healthy growth of 11.2 percent.
Public agricultural enterprises contributed 15.3 percent of total output during the reporting period. By region, agricultural output was distributed as follows: Sughd region - 23.8 percent, Khatlon region - 12.4 percent, Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region - 1.4 percent, and districts under republican subordination - 12.6 percent.
Dehkan farms (family or individual farming units) accounted for 38.8 percent of overall agricultural production in the first half of 2025.
In terms of household farming, which made up 45.9 percent of the total agricultural output, the regional breakdown was Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region—96 percent, Sughd—43.6 percent, Khatlon—44.2 percent, and districts under republican subordination—54.2 percent.
