Annageldy Mammetyazov has been appointed as Deputy Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan, an official Turkmen source said.
The relevant document was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov.
According to a report of British Petroleum (BP), Turkmenistan for its natural gas reserves ranks fourth in the world after Russia, Iran and Qatar. At present, Turkmenistan exports natural gas to China, Iran and Russia.
Among the planned gas pipelines from Turkmenistan are the following: an additional to Russia (Caspian gas pipeline - through Kazakhstan), Europe (Trans-Caspian gas pipeline - as part of Nabucco or AGRI via the Caspian Sea through Azerbaijan) and India (Trans-Afghan gas pipeline via Pakistan).
In accordance with the Development Programme of oil and gas industry it is planned to increase annual natural gas production up to 230 billion cubic meters by 2030, most for export.
