ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 13. Sayat district of the Lebap region, located in the east of Turkmenistan, plans to plant 3,140 hectares of rice this year, Trend reports.
As a result, farmers in Turkmenistan have strategically outlined their intentions to grow rice in order to obtain a significant harvest of almost 14,600 tons from cultivated land.
In general, 10,200 hectares of land will be sown in the Lebap region this year, from which it is planned to harvest about 47,400 tons of rice, which will remain unchanged from last year.
In order to improve rice varieties, some of its species imported from Russia underwent tests last year.
The development of agriculture in Turkmenistan is taking place with high dynamics and is one of the key sectors of the country's economy.
