The head of Iran's judicial body said that the indictments have been issued against 32 people accused of corruption. The court proceedings will move forward with five of the accused people facing aggravated charges of embezzlement and fraud, Fars news agency reported.
Ayatollah Amoli Larijani, Iran's chief justice said that those convicted will receive the maximum punishment in accordance with "sharia" or Islamic justice.
The arrests come after a $3 billion embezzlement scandal in Iran.
