According to official statistics, as of November 1, 2009, the total amount of the agricultural production made up AZN 3086.2mln compared to AZN 2952.2mln in January-October 2008, an increase of 4.5%.
In October 2009 a serious decline was recorded in production of agricultural, fishery and forestry sectors in Azerbaijan compared with the previous month. In October 2009, production amounted to AZN 244,798,900 manat compared to AZN 380,754,600 in September. Last year a record number was recorded in July (AZN 703,477,240) and it was also recorded in July 2009. In October 2008, agricultural production amounted to AZN 192,821,600 manat.
Factual amount of forestry products totaled 1,197,200 manat compared to 925,400 manat in January-October last year, the fishing industry 110,500 compared to 106,100 manat in January-October 2008.

Harvesting crops in agriculture of Azerbaijan completed. As of November 1, cereal production in Azerbaijan amounted to 2,837,100 million tons, corn - 149,700 tons, sunflower - 14,500, sugar beet - 119,100.

In October 2009 the meat production dropped 17.2 percent in Azerbaijan compared to September, when growth totaled 39.8 percent compared to August, an increase of 9.6 percent compared to January this year and 2.3 percent to October 2008.
According to data provided by the State Statistics Committee, the production of meat in October 2009 was 27,000 tons compared to 33,000 tons in September, 23,600 tons in August, 24,300 tons - in July, 27,300 tons in June, 23,200 tons in May, 24,400 tons in April, 24,100 in March, 23,655 tons in February, 24,645 tons in January this year and 26,400 tons in October 2008. During January-October 2009, meat production amounted to 254,200 tons compared to 252,600 tons in January-October 2008 (an increase of 0.6 percent) and 302,800 tons last year. In December 2008, 25,300 tons of meat were produced compared to 25,900 tons in December 2007.

Milk production in January-October 2009 made up 1,190,400 tons compared to 1,159,700 tons (+2.6 percent) in January-October 2008 and 1,381,600 tons in whole 2008, eggs - 991,800 compared to 899,600 (+10.2 percent) and 1,008,700 respectively. Wool was produced at 14,800 tons compared to 14,100 tons last year (4.9 percent).
