Cameron, Sarkozy to hold talks on Libya

British Prime Minister David Cameron is to travel to Paris Wednesday for talks with French President Nicolas Sarkozy about the situation in Libya, the French presidency announced.

The two leaders would be joined at the talks by their defence ministers, Liam Fox and Gerard Longuet, the president's office added in a statement, DPA reported.

The talks will directly follow a meeting in Qatar of the Libya Contact Group, a group of around 40 countries and international organizations appointed to oversee the international military campaign against Moamer Gaddafi's regime.

Britain and France have been calling for NATO to step up its airstrikes against Gaddafi's forces, to break their siege of the city of Misurata.
