The current two-day conference of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) will discuss the impact of religion on conflict resolution, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov told journalists in Baku at the conference "Dialogue of Civilizations: A View from Azerbaijan".
"Since the OIC conference in Casablanca, the organization constantly includes the question of the Armenian occupation of Azerbaijani lands, the destruction of Azerbaijani cultural values by Armenians in its agenda," said Mammadyarov.
The minister said Azerbaijan has a special geopolitical position in Eurasia, and since joining the OIC, it has contributed to strengthening inter-religious dialogue in various fields of culture.
"Azerbaijan initiated to organize a meeting of the OIC Foreign Ministers in Baku in 2014," said Mammadyarov.
