On November 6, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev left for Brussels, Trend reports quoting the Press-Service of the Sate Head.
According to Arif Mammadov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to countries of Benelux, the State Head intends to hold negotiations in Brussels with the heads of the European Union, NATO and Belgium on November 7-8. During the visit, it is intended to hold meetings with the Secretary General of the EU Council of Ministers, EU High Commissioner for Foreign Policy and Defense, Javier Solana, the President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso and EU Commissioner for Energy, Andris Piebalgs. It is implied to sign an Energy Co-operation Memorandum between the European Union and Azerbaijan
In addition, Aliyev plans to visit the Headquarter of the NATO and hold a meeting with the NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer and make a speech in the Council of the organization.
