Anniversary of Khojaly Genocide to be Marked in Baltic Countries

Azerbaijan, Baku, 12 February / cor. Trend S. Ilhamgizi/ Diaspora organizations in Baltic countries will carry out events in connection with the genocide and aggressive policy of Armenians against the Azerbaijani nation, the State Committee for Work with Azerbaijanis Living Abroad said to Trend.

The Aydan cultural center, the University of Culture of Eastern people named after Z. Aliyeva in Estonia, the Society of Azerbaijanis in Lithuania and the Ojag cultural center in Latvia will hold memorials on 26 February. The events will be mainly of an informative nature.

A twelve-minute documentary Dua (Prayer), shot by order of the Azerbaijani government, will be shown at an event to be held by the Ojag cultural center in Lithuania in connection to the anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.

The society of Azerbaijanis in Lithuania will circulate material about the tragedy translated into Lithuanian.

A collection of documents and other materials adopted by the Azerbaijani parliament on the Khojaly tragedy and historical material on Turkish-Armenian relations obtained from the Turkish Embassy in Estonia will be circulated among MPs, diplomatic corpuses and ministers of the three Baltic countries.

Special groups will hold photo exhibitions and scientific seminars in various cities and regions of the Baltics and will circulate special bulletins. These groups include foreign citizens as well.
